![]() ![]() ![]() If you want to use a run method like Slay the spire, Issac, or Enter the gungeon you gota give me a reason to keep going. But more unlocks does not equal drive to keep going. just dumping me back at the start to hold W to redo it all, I love rouge(likes, lites, etc.) my steam list is full of them. but that's all? that's a pretty sour taste in my mouth but even DD1 the big baddies didn't give you some fanfare or anything like that but you did see the fruits of your labor, some checklist was checked off. no change, i got some levels unlocked some more trinkets etc. Nothing, I'm slapped back at the beginning of the cross roads. it was a tough fight for me! lots of healing and focused attacks, beat all the locks and I get a nice animation of the brain being broken free and then. I was able to beat the boss and finish the chapter I felt really good. In DD1 that would be a retreat and a regroup, cant here, okay that's fine. When getting to the mountain i had a few skulls so i had some fights, i went into the mountain with 100% HP and maybe 1 pip of stress, by the time i got to the final boss i was at half health or lower on everyone and around 5 pips each. same party, same abilities, only difference was items and 1 more positive relationship. While I'm not a huge fan of the direction I wanted to give it my all and see i bought this day 1 and played several hours, after figuring out the relationship system i got to the mountain, and lost, tried again and then won. "story" only goes so far to make me want to play.) (DD2 isn't bad but it needs a sense of progression and purpose for what were doing. I sound like im being a crybaby and to an extent i am but i do enjoy the series and i want to see red hook succeed in the future more so then now so if any developers r out there here's my feed back Some of the encounters against enemy mobs i feel r stacked example the Antiquarian fight is one that i do not enjoy ive had someone die every-time bc they have 2 actions per turn and they can buff and de-buff on the same turn which is pretty stacked. Again this plays into why would i want to play this game over other titles or even dd1 which has a way better balance, I do understand this is early access but dammmmmmmmmmmm i mean i would have left the core systems the same or something bc when i did my first play-through blind i was like wtfffff got through an area but then every1 hated every1 and i cant sell or trade anything. The graphics are definitely an upgrade which i do enjoy the 3d modeling is awesome, and i like where the story is going but the dd2 main mode right now feels more like an iron-man mode then an actual continuation of the story which is cool for some but after coming home from work or something this game isnt something id want to play bc eventually i will die and complete wipe lose everything top to bottom which for me feels like a waste of time despite the "Rewards" i get which i type sarcastically bc idk i should by default have these characters instead of having to grind a few hrs. I will state that i do love some things about it but i do feel that there should have been more thought into the new relationships statuses compared to DD1. This is incredibly difficult at the lower profile levels and honestly ive an experienced turn based player, DD1 and many other titles but this game is rough af.
